Funk Training Squads And Talent Company…

CONGRATULATIONS, to all successful auditioned. We had a record number of students audition and still a large number of enquiries for the January Audition.

Teams for Competitions will train as a TRAINING SQUAD until April 2007 when the actual COMPETITION team will be selected from the Training Squads listed below.

It is compulsory for all students participating in Funk Training Squads to attend in a SECOND TECHNICAL class.

All training squad members will be issued with a team contract, which has to be signed and returned to your coach. Any student with a (P) next to their name needs to speak with the director, Kim Grant – Taylor . If you decide to accept the position being offered to you, it is necessary to either advise your coach or ring the office and leave a message with your decision by Friday 8 th December. If no message is received, it will be assumed that you will not be accepting your position in the Funk Training Squad.

Auditions for all NEW students and existing students that missed the December auditions will be held, Monday 22 nd January . Anyone wishing to audition, please call the office on 8212 8400 and book in.

All funk training squads will be starting Term 1 2007 from Tuesday 23 rd January.

Classes will be as follows:

TUESDAY 23rd Jan

5:00 – 6:00 Junior B

6:00 – 7:00 Junior A

7:00 – 8:00 TC Funk

8:00 – 9:00 Open age/Sf3

WEDNESDAY 24th January

5-8 YTC MINI’S

5-8 YTC CADETS

THURSDAY 25th January

5-8 TC

normal class times will resume from 30/1/07

Workshops will be held during the year with compulsory attendance from all
funk training squad team members.

Based at our City Studios & aged between 13 & 17, they have spent years training in singing, acting &  dance.
They love the excitement of performing and competing. Highlights over the past 2 years have included:

• 2004 & 2005  FISAF AUSTRALIAN CADET (Under 14) FUNK CHAMPIONS
• 2004 & 2005  FISAF AUSTRALIAN JUNIOR (Under 17) FUNK CHAMPIONS
• 2005 ALL AGES “GROOVE” URBAN BATTLE DANCE CONTEST STATE CHAMPIONS
• 2005 CAREER EXPO ALLCOMERS DANCE CHAMPIONS
• 2005 SHOWCASE DANCE COMPETITION – SA Champs for Best Group
• Nominated for 2005 SA GREAT YOUTH AWARD in both Arts & Sport

As a result of their  success they have been invited to the USA , as the only Australian team to compete in, THE WORLD HIP HOP CHAMPIONSHIPS  &  Perform as special guests in DISNEYLAND.

“TC”  enjoy performing to raise money for charities such as Canteen, Cancer Council, Variety Club & promoting the Performing Arts to a wider audience including Country Communities, Youth Detention Centres, National Youth Week, Royal Show, 36ers Basketball, Schoolies  Telstra Big Tent 2005, SA Museum Fundays.

In addition, they have been busking in the Rundle Mall and at the Train Station to raise money to
achieve their USA goal....If you want to help them get to the World Championships, there are a number of options !!!!...
